The New iPod Family!

News No Comments

Technology is constantly changing and improving. More’s law roughly suggests that as technology improves devices will get smaller and more powerful, (i.e. the new “classic iPod and Nano.”) I love technology and consider myself at the very least a “first mover” in the world of new tech gadgets, but I ask you this question, does anyone else feel a little sorry for the old iPods? No other technological device in history has become such a fashion/status symbol in American culture, the cell phone may come awfully close. So when are we going to start looking at the last iPod series like a group of degenerate step children that no one wants? I apologize to all the degenerate step children out there that I may have offended.

So in closing, your old iPod may not be cool anymore but you can still give it a purpose. WATERPROOF YOUR IPOD!

Outdoor Retailer

‘H2O Audio voted “pillar of the community” at the Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City, Utah.’
Having nothing to do with the giant electrical hub obstructing, I’m sorry, enhancing our booth, we managed to walk away with the coveted Pillar of the Community award. When asked about the importance of winning such an award Ron Wilson, Marketing Manager at H2O Audio, had this to say, “Winning the Pillar of the community award means a lot to H2O Audio. Our creed here at H2O Audio is, and will always be, “you ain’t gots to lie to kick it,” which really screams the importance of integrity and trust in our company.”

All kidding aside, The Outdoor Retailer was a great success for H2O Audio.
If your in Orlando for the Surf Expo(Booth# 1408) in September don’t forget to stop by and say hello.

The Commander Scroll Wheel Control

It may sound like a character from an Oliver Stone movie but in fact it is the heart and soul of the H2O Audio housing.

Let me break it down for…

iPod scroll wheel sensors work by using an electrical phenomenon called capacitance. Whenever two electrically conductive objects come near each other without actually touching, their electric fields interact to form a capacitance. The human finger is a good electrical conductor. When you place your finger on the scroll wheel a capacitance forms between your finger and the metal wires under the scroll wheel.

In a nutshell, the electrical conductivity of the Commander scroll wheel replaces the conductivity of your finger allowing you to operate your iPod underwater. Sweet…

The correct way to install and maintain your T-seal.

First off, it is extremely important to ensure that your T-seal is properly seated during each and every closure.

It’s a fact folks, 99.9% of all housing leaks are due to human error. Of course it’s less likely to happen to you because you’re reading this post, and the provided instructions….

Sweet!

The Break Down…

Prior to Use

1. T-seal is aligned in housing properly prior to closure.
2. T-seal and contact surface have been cleaned properly with a lint free cloth.
3. T-seal and contact surface are free of scratches and other imperfections.

Do not even attempt to take your H2O Audio product in the water if:

1. T-seal is twisted, or out of alignment during closure.
2. T-seal and contact surfaces have any dirt, lint, hair, sand, seaweed, twine, small crustaceans, you get the picture.
3. You see scratches or imperfections on the T-seal or contact surfaces.

Please visit our main site for detailed instructions on how to properly handle and maintain your T-seal.
