It’s Mac’s world, we’re just living in it

MacWorld was a success and all I can say is, I’m glad it’s over. No word on the final attendance mark but event organizers were expecting nearly 50,000 visitors to attend the MacWorld expo in 2008. Personally it looked more like 60,000 but I did start talking to the water fountain by day three.

Consumer shows have an entirely different feel to them than your typical industry trade show. For those of you that are not familiar with a “typical industry trade show” my colleagues and I will be filming a ‘mocumentary’ on the subject due to release Christmas 2009. The main difference is of course the interaction with the end user. Below are a couple of our favorite consumer quotes from the 2008 MacWorld.

“My friend hides from his wife and kids at the bottom of his pool and watches movies with his H2O Audio case.”

“I hate swimming. I love your product. I still hate swimming.”

“Is it really waterproof?”

“I’m not going anywhere near the water with my iPod………do you guys take credit cards?”

“People look at me like I just stepped out of a spaceship when I wear your product at my local pool.”
