On Team Tuesday we usually update you on what Michael Phelps, Natalie Coughlin and our Ambassador Athletes are up to, but Team H2O Audio is much larger than just the Olympians. We have almost 300 athletes who swim, ride, race and compete in many different sports around the world.
Recently, we’ve been getting updates from our friends at Ironheart Racing. Growing from 5 to over 60 triathletes just in this year, David Watkins started Ironheart Racing as a support team for triathletes overcoming congenital heart defects. After having open heart surgery to entirely replace a valve in his heart, David set a goal to complete an Ironman triathlon, and did it! Last week he finished the Ironman in Panama City Beach Florida in just over 15 hours, and used our gear to help himself get there. We’re so proud!
Also a great story from this past week, actor Tony Besson, most known for his role in Spiderman 3, ran the grueling Tough Mudder race in New Jersey with a little help from H2O Audio. Just proves that not only is our gear waterproof, but mudproof too!
That’s right, while everyone’s thinkin’ about turkey and stuffing, we’ve been hard at work putting together great deals and gift bundles for all the music lovers and fitness enthusiasts on your holiday shopping list. Browse by sport, or small items just perfect for stocking stuffers, there’s a little something for everyone.
Don’t let all the sports fool you, H2O Audio has many uses. From busy moms who need to drool proof their iPhone (and need a good set of noise canceling headphones to get a break from the crying), to travelers on the go who need a headset that can survive all conditions (including an exploding shampoo bottle in your bag) to the teen who simply must bring music to their shower (but needs to do so with headphones, so as to spare the rest of the family Bieber-fever…) life gets wet, and we’re here to help.
Happy Holidays from H2O Audio!
I know I’ve given up more than a few waves to surfing dolphins, but surfing orcas!? I certainly don’t want to see that coming at me in the ocean!
Check out this series of pictures. According to the photographer, the whales looked like they’d been surfing at this location before, perfectly timing their exit out of the waves.
We haven’t visited the subject of nutrition on Training Wednesday in a while.
Most people, even non-athletes, know about “carb loading” before a big event. Pounding pasta or a stack of waffles before a big race to give your body plenty of fuel, but where does protein figure into that ? How about iron?
More and more, athletes are publicizing their decision to move to an entirely plant based diet, or vegan, diet. Although not a new idea, it was commonly thought that endurance athletes wouldn’t be able to maintain proper nutrition and energy levels without the benefit of meat and dairy protein.
A recent experiment by CNN contributor Rich Roll, found that just veggies could do the trick. What do you think? Would just plants keep you trekking through an Ironman?
