Today marks my last day as an H2O Audio Intern—it’s been 3-4 months now since I’ve started interning here and it’s been a fun ride. I loved that I could wear shorts and flip flops to work and the fact that the beach is literally right outside our office (which, when it’s a beautiful summer day, is actually kind of evil). But all things considering, it’s a pretty sweet place to work at. Ohh, and they have a coffee machine to fuel my caffeine addiction—and believe me, I’m not a morning bird by all means, so the vast variety of coffees available was much appreciated.
But I digress, this post is meant to give you a peek into the inner workings of H2O Audio. As the marketing intern, I got to do a little bit of everything, from monitoring forums/blogs to planning events, making product demo videos to mass mailing, waging Nerf gun wars to pranking the Customer Service guys. It’s definitely a very laid back kind of work place, which I love. All my co-workers are a bunch of super chill, super nice people and I’ll definitely miss them when I leave.
Since it’s Friday afternoon and I’m slightly food coma-ing from my yummy lunch, I will leave you with two lists:
Some things you might not know about H2O Audio:
- When you sign on into a computer, there’s a pop-up confidentiality notice that alerts you that everything you do is monitored
- The fridge is always stocked with 8 different kinds of drinks
- People here are avid athletes who go surfing during their lunch break
- They get a looootttt of mail. Boxes and boxes.
- Everyone’s friends with each other and they actually hang out with each other outside work
- They have a bazillion different coffee “flavors” for their coffee machine
Fun times at H2O Audio:
- Company event at Padres game (hello buffet J)
- Beach events where we’re out promoting our products (Perk of working in Pacific Beach)
- Walking/Driving distance to lots of yummy places to eat (Costco food court anyone?)
