Check Compatibility Review by boyscoutph
Overall Rating I have a Sony Ericsson Android phone and unfortunately, the 3.5 connector standards that Sony Ericsson follows IS NOT the same as the iPHONE; the "common ground" and microphone connectors are inter-changed between these two standards. The result is the sound from these headset will be weak and distorted when used with a Sony Ericsson smartphone and the mic will be useless as well.
The product details on this web site doesn't say much on compatibility with devices and I hope h2oaudio would either come up with a variant that's compatible with the other connector standard or come up with an adapter. (Posted on 2/14/12) -
Love the music got funny ears! Review by Fowler
Overall Rating I would recommend this to anyone who wants to change things up alil in the pool. The sound is excellent and I love the fact that you can use your on Ipod. My only quirm is that I can't seem to keep the earbuds in my ear, after about 6 laps they move around too much. But when they are in they sound just like when I run. I am currently looking for an earbud that wraps around my ear, which is what I have to have when I run. I am sure they will work perfectly! Good Luck and enjoy. (Posted on 2/6/12)

Great! Review by d11
Overall Rating First of all, make sure the ear buds are far in your ears. I bought the additional earbuds & really like the memory foam inserts. Once in, the bass is GREAT. I've only worn these for running, but I sweat enough to know these are waterproof. LOL - While these are my first waterproof earphones, I can still comment on how happy I am with the quality. The headset is great also! Great sound & I just can't wait to call my friends when I'm out on the kayak & they're at work. I'll update more as I go, but this is my first glance at this headset. WOW great sound. Review by Grant D Cook
Overall Rating Pros:
Nice cord that doesnt tangle easily
Deep sound with good highs. Very comparable to any other 50$ headphones
Lots of sizes to get the best fit.
Sturdy audio Jack
Mic
Awesome Build Quality
Cons:
The audio jack is rather large if you are plugging this directly into your ipod.
The little tangle protector (sliding piece of plastic) doesnt go all the way up the cord because of the mic.
Getting the best fit can be difficult: it is an absolute necessity to get the best fit. For me the memory foam inserts are the best. They seal out the water and stay in very well. BUT once you dial it in get ready for some quality sound and locked in buds.
Future:
I would like to see in the future: smaller audio jack, plastic clip to keep the buds from tangling (just like the new oem apple buds). More streamline mic. (Posted on 2/1/11) -
excellent sound, non shure stability! Review by Olli from Finland
Overall Rating Again, the sound is good, but stability of earbuds is not proof enough!
The best stability with the best sound quality is coming with custom made (as mine) plugs fit exactly to user ear-channels PLUS ribs holding the blugs with rubber hooks behind the ear leaf! ;) (Posted on 10/28/10) -
H2O Audio has done it.... Review by tomyule.com
Overall Rating I got my pair of Surge Contact in May 2010, Since opening they have lived on my head or in my pocket on the way to be used.
I have to give this product 5 Stars as the Surge Contact is more useful then the Apple iPhone headset that comes with the phone, I know that the Apple headset is not waterproof but the crew at H2O Audio have made a product that really makes the iPhone. The Bass Amplified sound that these bad boys produce is second to none below water.
I have many uses for the Surge Contact, I am a professional kayaker and i spend hours each day on the water some alone, Having my music with me through the hard training times is priceless. But the Contact ables me to accept calls while im out on the water. I am also a surf lifeguard and with the help from H2O Audio I have used the Surge Contact for reporting emergencies while i have been out surfing.
So if you dont already have your own Surge Contact headset i would vist the store now and get one.
"hi, sorry i cant take your call now i am out surfing il call you back" can be changed to "Wush eulp wolp......" (answering a call underwater its soo funny :D) TRY IT NOW!!!!! (Posted on 7/22/10) -
For the next model Review by Adeline
Overall Rating I bought a pair recently. I'm very happy with the sound quality and it being sweatproof.
The only thing is, the button does not work on iPod shuffle. I was really hoping it would.
It would be great if the next model could be made to be compatible with the iPod shuffle as there is a great need for a sweatproof headphone for the shuffle. There are no sweatproof headphones compatible with the shuffle at the moment. And without a remote control, the latest 3rd gen shuffle is practically useless. (Posted on 7/8/10) -
Love this headset! Review by Christian
Overall Rating I got a pair of these in spring of 2009 so I've had them a little over a year and love them! I was wondering what happened to this product as it disappeared off the website a month or two after I got mine. Good to see them back on the store as I tried to recommend them to friends but they ceased to exist...
I use these year round on Nantucket for stand up paddle surfing, flat water paddling and downwinders with my iPhone. Great for listening to music and especially good for taking calls from friends and then rubbing it in that you are out surfing and they are sitting in traffic calling you! I own a surf school Nantucket surfari, and will occasionally take them out in the water during a lesson or camp if I have a call that I absolutely can't miss. The kids also love them and all want to catch a wave while listening to music.
Pressing the button once to start/stop music or end a call works no problem. The only drawback to this headset is that is hard to use the button to double click to skip a track and triple click to go back a track.
If you have an iPhone and an Amphibx armband you must get this headset.
H2O Audio Response:
This is the new and improved Surge Contact, much better than the older edition we released last year. (Posted on 5/6/10)
